Mobile phone voice call price comparison, Cambodia 2010-03
The Phnom Penh Post has made a new comparison of mobile phone voice call prices in Cambodia. The comparison is simple and does not account for special promotions and does not take in account other differences in the services.
Generally it seems that the operators who do not have a good coverage or who are newcomers in the market have set their across-network charges around 6-7 cents per minute. The traditional operators who have a good country-wide coverage and a solid customer base are charging about 10 cents per minute for across-network calls.
Hello is an odd exception: they are charging the same amount for within-network and across-network calls: always 7 cents per minute.
Have a look at the PPP article at the following URL:
Operators are now competing by other means than just the voice call pricing. For example Smart Mobile is advertising extra long validity of one year, whereas Beeline is putting their efforts on setting up road-side advertisements.
Some operators are also focusing on value-added services such as flat-rate mobile internet etc.
